Brett Payton undertook his training under the tutelage of Australian, Polish and German Cabinetmakers. He has successfully combined the expertise of these craftsmen to perfect his own methods of manufacturing and training.
We don't train staff to specialize in one area as part of a production-line, but rather to master every facet of the business from customer relations to fitting the finished product. This, we believe, fosters in our staff a sense of responsibility and pride in their work, which ultimately results in a higher standard of workmanship. The time we put into training equates to a better product for you and a better reputation for us.
We indenture a new apprentice every year and encourage our fully qualified tradesman to stay with us to continue their training.
In 2007 Payton Kitchens were awarded Qld Small Employer of the Year. They went on to be a finalist for Small Business of the Year at the Australian Training Awards. By being supportive of awards has helped keep the trade alive.
Each year they indenture a school based apprentice who are encouraged to complete year 12. This apprenticeship (Certificate III in Cabinet Making) is offered in conjunction with Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE and is in addition to training in carpentry, joinery and machining.
Brett is still on site weekly and in this time staff receive one on one time to ensure their training needs are monitored.
Through the Dynamic Kitchen Display all our staff have an excellent opportunity for training in sales and customer service.
